The most visible law-enforcement move came later, on April 28, 2021, when federal agents searched Giuliani’s home and office in New York as part of an investigation linked to his Ukraine-related activities.

The timeline matters. Giuliani’s Ukraine work had already drawn sustained attention well before that spring, and the federal paper trail was not new on April 10. Justice Department records show the department had been dealing with the broader Ukraine matter for years, including material connected to Giuliani’s contacts and efforts around Ukrainian officials and claims involving Joe Biden. The point for the April 10 edition is narrower: there was scrutiny, but not a newly announced raid, charge, or public enforcement step that day.

The federal election-law record also shows Giuliani personally in the Ukraine orbit. In Matter Under Review 7645, the Federal Election Commission considered allegations involving an attempt to solicit a contribution from a foreign national, with Giuliani named as a respondent. That record does not describe an April 10 break in the case, but it does confirm that his conduct in the Ukraine episode was already under formal review.

So the clean read for April 10 is simple. Giuliani remained exposed to the fallout from the Ukraine matter, and that exposure was still politically and legally relevant. But the public evidence for a major federal move belongs to April 28, not April 10.
