Melania Trump issues White House denial over Epstein ties
Melania Trump used a White House statement on April 9 to reject claims linking her to Jeffrey Epstein. In the statement, she said the allegations about her were false and said her name had never appeared in court documents, depositions, victim statements or FBI interviews connected to the Epstein matter.
Her statement also said she had never been friends with Epstein, never had a relationship with him or Ghislaine Maxwell, and had no knowledge of Epstein’s abuse. She said she first crossed paths with Epstein in 2000 at an event she attended with Donald Trump, and that he did not introduce her to her husband. The White House published the statement under the Office of the First Lady.
The release was a response to a specific line of online accusations, not a full legal filing or evidentiary report. It answers the claim it addresses: Melania Trump says her name does not appear in the records and interviews she cited, and that she had no involvement with Epstein’s conduct. The statement does not provide new documentary material about Epstein itself.
It also went beyond denial and into a demand for congressional action. Melania Trump called for a public hearing for Epstein’s victims and said their testimony should be entered into the Congressional Record. That shifts the statement from simple rebuttal to a broader political message about how the subject should be handled in public.
