The Daily Fuckup: July 25, 2021
A backfill edition from the day Trump-world kept digging the same hole: criminal exposure in New York, a shrinking legal bench, and the slow-motion collapse of the election-fraud clown car.
On July 25, 2021, the Trump orbit was still paying for the lie, the tax games, and the habit of treating accountability like a branding problem. The biggest damage was in New York, where the Trump Organization and Allen Weisselberg were already under indictment and the fallout kept widening. Around it, the legal defenders who spent months laundering the 2020 fantasy were getting sanctioned, suspended, or quietly discredited.
Closing take
By the end of the day, the story was no longer whether Trump-world had a credibility problem. It was whether there was any credibility left to spend. The legal bills were real, the political damage was compounding, and the people who built the mess were still pretending it was everyone else’s fault.
