The White House ballroom project immediately drew a preservation lawsuit, and the administration kept inviting fresh legal trouble around the use of federal power and White House muscle for a vanity build that has already leveled the East Wing. The common thread: Trump keeps treating institutional guardrails like speed bumps, and the courts keep noticing.
