Appeals court leaves Ivanka Trump testimony date in place after delay bid fails
A New York appeals court turned down Ivanka Trump’s bid to pause her testimony in her father’s civil fraud trial, leaving the Nov. 8 date already set by the trial judge in place. The lower court had already pushed her appearance back from Oct. 27 to give attorneys more time to question her.
The ruling meant the schedule stayed on the path set earlier in the week. Ivanka Trump remained on track to testify after Donald Trump’s own appearance in the same case, which was brought by the New York attorney general over alleged financial fraud tied to the Trump family business.
The appellate panel did not remove Ivanka Trump from the witness list or disturb the rescheduling order. It simply refused to stop the testimony from going forward on the later date.
The fight was procedural, but it mattered because it closed off one more attempt to push the testimony back in a case already marked by repeated scheduling disputes and appeals.
